KSP: Texas Woman Arrested for Identity Theft of Madisonville Man

(Cadiz, KY.) – Police say a Texas woman has been charged with the identity theft of a Hopkins Countt man.

Kentucky State Police Post 1 was notified around 11:00 Friday morning that 39 year old Nicole M. Banks had been located and arrested at her residence in Converse, Texas. Banks had been the subject of an investigation into the identity theft of a Madisonville, KY man with ties to Cadiz, KY.

When she is extradited to Kentucky, KSP indicates Banks will face five counts of Theft of Identity of Another without Consent, five counts of Making False Statement as to Identity or Financial Condition, one count Fraudulent use of Credit Card Over $500 But Less Than $10,000, Theft By Unlawful Taking Under $500.00, and Attempted Theft By Unlawful Taking Over $500.00 But Less Than $10,000. Police say the charges stem from a 16 week multi-state investigation by Kentucky State Police Trooper Michael Robichaud and the Converse, Texas Police Department.

Banks is in custody in Texas on local theft charges and fugitive charges. Her extradition to Kentucky is pending the outcome of the local charges she faces in Texas.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Trooper Michael Robichaud.

Kentucky State Police were assisted in the investigation by the Converse, Texas Police Department.
