KSP: Owensboro Man Arrested at Henderson Traffic Safety Checkpoint for Trafficking Meth

A traffic safety checkpoint in Henderson Friday night netted the arrest of an Owensboro man for trafficking drugs and multiple other offenses.

According to Kentucky State Police, the pre-approved Traffic Safety Checkpoint was located at Wolf Hills Road and the Landfill where troopers arrested 31 year old Robert L Mitchell for DUI.

Upon further investigation, troopers charged Mitchell with Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense- Methamphetamine, Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense- Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, Drug Paraphernalia Buy/Possess, Operating Motor Vehicle With Expired License, License to be in Possession, Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon and Failure to Produce Insurance Card.

Mitchell was lodged in the Henderson County Detention Center.
