NEWS RELEASE
(Kuttawa, KY) – The Kentucky State Police stopped a vehicle traveling east on Interstate 24, Thursday, November 19, 2015 at approximately 09:56 A.M. for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop Trooper TJ Williams observed several indicators of criminal activity. Trooper Brad Ramsey and his K9 Partner Oscar arrived on scene and alerted on the vehicle. Troopers located 36 pounds of marijuana that was packaged placed inside of three suitcases. The street value of the marijuana is approximately $80,000.
The driver of the vehicle, Katkeo Sayavongsa, 59 of Milwaukee, WI was arrested and charged with; No Registration Plates, Trafficking in Marijuana Greater than Five Pounds, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Savavongsa was lodged in the Caldwell County Detention Facility.
