KSP investigating shooting in Henderson County

A Henderson County man was airlifted to an Evansville hospital after police say he was shot by a Hebbardsville man.

According to Kentucky State Police, troopers responded to Bluff City Road in Hebbardsville around 7:40 Friday night after 69 year old Henry Butler called Post 16 in Henderson and stated he had just shot 36 year old Freddy Gibson of Hebbardsville as he was trying to break into Butler’s house.

KSP says a preliminary investigation indicates Gibson drove to Butler’s residence and confronted him and the 69 year old man got his shotgun and shot Gibson.

Authorities say Gibson was flown to St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville.

As of news time, no charges had been filed against either man, but state police are continuing to investigate the shooting incident.
