Kentucky State Police are investigating a two-vehicle, fatality-collision that occurred on KY 181, approximately four miles north of Greenville, around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Police report the preliminary investigation revealed that 53 year old Barry Travis, of Clarksville, TN, was operating a 2012 International tractor-trailer northbound on KY 181 and turning onto the Wendell Ford Regional Training Center when a motorcycle driven by 59 year old Daniel L. Bruce, of Bremen, crashed into the side of the semi.
Bruce was transported via ambulance to Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital where he died from his injuries. KSP says he was not wearing a helmet. Travis, who was wearing seatbelt, was not injured.
KSP continues to investigate the wreck. KSP Post 2 units, KSP CVE, the Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Department, the Wendell H. Ford Regional Training Center Fire Department, and Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital EMS assisted at the scene.
