KSP UPDATE: Christian Co. Man Injured in Wreck Dies From Injuries

Update: Kentucky State Police reports On Friday, April 1st at approximately 11:30 a.m., 56 year old Owen McDonald died around 11:30 a.m. Friday from injuries he sustained in a single vehicle wreck Thursday night.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Crofton, KY (Christian County) – The Kentucky State Police is investigating a single-vehicle, injury-collision that occurred Thursday night on US 41 (Madisonville Road), south of Crofton.

According to KSP Post 2 in Madisonville, the preliminary investigation revealed that 56 year old Owen McDonald, of Crofton, was driving a 1978 Chevrolet El Camino northbound on US 41 (Madisonville Road) around 7:00 p.m. Thursday when he lost control of the vehicle and exited the right shoulder of the road where the vehicle to hit a rock and overturned.  Authorities say Owen, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected.  The vehicle came to rest upright, partially in the roadway.

State Police indicate Owen was transported via ambulance to Baptist Health Madisonville for treatment, and was later transported by ambulance to Deaconess in Evansville, IN.

The Christian County Sheriff’s Department, the Crofton Volunteer Fire Department, and Christian County EMS assisted KSP at the scene.
