KSP Charges Bullitt Co. Man With Child Sexual Exploitation Offenses

NEWS RELEASE

Shepherdsville, Ky. (Oct. 5, 2016)— On October 5, 2016, at approximately 10:06 a.m., the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch, assisted by KSP Post 4-Elizabethtown, arrested Gregory D. Wesley, 61, on charges related to distribution and possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor.

Wesley was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect sharing images of child sexual exploitation online.

The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at Wesley’s residence in Shepherdsville on October 5, 2016. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination. The investigation is ongoing.

Wesley is currently charged with five counts of distribution and nine counts of possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor. Each charge is a Class-D felony punishable by one to five years in prison.

Wesley was lodged in the Bullitt County Detention Center. Additional charges are expected.
