KSP: Anonymous Tip Leads to Felony Arrest in Sturgis

A 32 year old man wanted on multiple warrants was also found in possession of drugs and a motorcycle when he was arrested Wednesday at a Sturgis residence, according to authorities.

Kentucky State Police report they received an anonymous tip that Joseph Wagner Jr. was at a residence on King Street in Sturgis. The tipster also told police Wagner had numerous warrants.

KSP with assistance from the Union County Sheriff’s Office responded to the residence and located Wagner outside of the home. Police indicate Wagner was taken into custody on active warrants for failure to appear, forgery 2nd degree, and theft by unlawful taking U/$10,000.00.

Authorities say they also found drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine on Wagner, and determined he was in possession of a stolen 2015 Kawasaki motorcycle.

Wagner was additionally charged with receiving stolen property U/$10,000, drug paraphernalia-buy/possess, possession controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense (methamphetamine), criminal possession of forged instrument 2nd degree, theft by deception u/$10,000.00. Police report Wagner also three bench warrants for failure to appear on multiple traffic violations. He was lodged in the Union County Detention Center.

KSP reports Wagner’s address is Evansville, IN, but on the local jail’s website his address is listed as Sturgis.
