KSP: 1 dead, 1 critically injured in motorcycle crash in Hancock County

An Owensboro woman was killed Tuesday in a motorcycle crash in Hancock County.

Kentucky State Police responded to the accident on US Highway 60 East, west of Hawesville around 5:10 p.m. Tuesday where they determined 47 year old Charles Campbell Jr., of Owensboro, was operating his Harley Davidson motorcycle when he drove off the shoulder of the road. Police say he lost control of the motorcycle, traveled through the median and crashed into an earth embankment, ejecting him and his passenger, 23 year old Kennah Galloway.

KSP reports Galloway suffered head injuries and was airlifted from the scene to Deaconess Hospital where she died from her injuries. Campbell was transported by ambulance to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital for multiple injuries and was later airlifted to St. Mary’s Hospital in Louisville where police say he is listed in stable but critical condition.

According to police, neither subject was wearing a helmet.
