Kentucky State Police Arrest Two Men Saturday Night after a Short Foot Pursuit.

Sturgis, KY (Union County) – Kentucky State Police was conducting a traffic safety checkpoint on US
60 near the limits of Sturgis Ky. Ryan Looney and his passenger Steven Kelly were stopped at the
checkpoint and were asked to pull off to the side of the road. Steven Kelly exited the vehicle and fled
on foot and was apprehended after a short foot pursuit. Steven Kelly, 26, of Florence KY, was
arrested and charged with Fleeing or Evading Police 2nd Degree (on foot) and Possession of
Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense (Methamphetamine). Ryan Looney, 29, of Walton KY,
was arrested and charged with Hindering Prosecution and Apprehension 2nd Degree and Possession
of Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense (Methamphetamine). Both Kelly and Looney were
arrested and transported to the Union County Jail where they were lodged.
