Kentucky Dam Marina, Lake Beshear boat ramps closing Nov. 30 for maintenance

FRANKFORT, Ky. – The boat ramps at Lake Beshear and at Kentucky Dam Marina on Kentucky Lake will temporarily close to boat launching starting Nov. 30 so both can undergo needed maintenance in the coming weeks.

The Kentucky Dam Marina boat ramp reconstruction project at Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park in Marshall County will replace the existing ramp with a five-lane ramp. Each lane will be 14 feet wide.

The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources’ Engineering Division will be performing the work on behalf of the state’s Department of Parks. The project is scheduled to be finished by the end of January 2016, barring any weather delays.

The boat ramp reconstruction project at Lake Beshear will replace the single-lane asphalt ramp currently in place off KY 2066 in Caldwell County with a 14-foot concrete ramp that extends farther and deeper into the water. Absent any weather delays, the project is scheduled to be finished by Jan. 1, 2016.

Kentucky Fish and Wildlife maintains a database of fishing and boating access sites on its website at fw.ky.gov. On the department’s homepage, click the “Fish” tab and choose “Where to Fish” from the dropdown menu.
