KENERGY OFFERING FREE WI-FI TO STUDENTS

Kenergy is now offering free Wi-Fi for the fourteen county school districts in its service territory.

“Kenergy recognizes that this year has been especially tough for students, teachers, and administrators in our service territory,” Kenergy President and CEO Jeff Hohn said. “Virtual learning has posed its own challenges, especially for those that don’t have access to reliable internet. We want to help.”

Wi-Fi portal locations have been set up at the Henderson, Owensboro, Marion, Hawesville and Hanson office locations. Students can access the free Wi-Fi every day from 6:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Signs are posted for parking to show where the best connectivity locations are.

The Wi-Fi portals are password protected so only area students have access to them. This allows students to have priority when they need to access the portals.

“Concern for community is one of the cooperative principles our electric cooperative operates by,” Hohn said. “We saw a need in the communities we serve and wanted to provide a solution to help alleviate that stress.”
