James Gordon O’Bryant, 88, of Waverly, KY passed away on Wednesday 10/10/2018 at Medical Center of Bowling Green in Bowling Green, KY. He was a devoted husband, grandfather and great grandfather. Mr. O’Bryant was a farmer in Union County, and also was employed in coal mining, both as a miner and company man for many years. He was a long-time member of the Church of Christ.

He is preceded in death by his parents; George Carvel & Rhoda Ella Whitledge O’Bryant, a son; Len O’Bryant, 2 brothers; Mason and Tom O’Bryant; and a daughter-in-law; Vickie O’Bryant.

Survivors include:

His wife of 68 years Sue O’Bryant

1 – Son Kenneth Ray O’Bryant of Yorktown, VA

2 – Daughters Linda (Tim) Rice of Madison, AL

Amy (Jimmy) Fox of Bowling Green, KY

9 – Grandchildren Nathan O’Bryant, Matthew O’Bryant, Ashley Parker, Brittany O’Bryant, Tyler O’Bryant,Rochelle Johnson, Lauren Rice,
Lee Fox & Quentin Fox

4- Great grandchildren Elena, Caden, Lendon, & Lydia

1-Sister Thelma Springer

Funeral service will be 2pm Monday, October 15th, 2018 at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield, KY. Bro. Neil Kempf will officiate. Visitation will be 1pm-5pm, Sunday, and 10am-until service time Monday at Whitsell Funeral Home. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Morganfield, KY.
