ISP Trooper Matt Jacobs Recognized as Trooper of the Year at Evansville District

Evansville – Last Friday, April 15, Troopers throughout Indiana were honored at an awards ceremony at the Indiana Government Center in Indianapolis.

Trooper Matt Jacobs was recognized as the 2015 Evansville District Trooper of the Year. Jacobs is an eight-year veteran of the department and primarily patrols Gibson County. In addition to his regular patrol duties, he serves as a field training officer, emergency vehicle operator instructor, honor guard member, background investigator, level 3 commercial motor vehicle inspector, digital media recovery specialist and is an instructor for our Safe Schools/Active Shooter program. “Trooper Jacobs is the epitome of service and integrity we want to be associated with the Indiana State Police and he is very deserving of this award,” said Lieutenant Brian Bailey, Commander of the Evansville District.
