A traffic stop in Vanderburgh County led to the arrest of an Evansville man for drug possession.

Indiana State Police reports the traffic stop was made around 10:05 p.m. Saturday after the driver of a van identified as 49 year old Ronald Sloan, of Evansville, IN, failed to use a turn signal at Lodge Avenue and Covert Avenue. Police say a trooper and K-9 unit responded to scene and the K-9 alerted to the presence of narcotics in Sloan’s van where authorities found a glass pipe with meth residue and a small plastic bag containing meth. Troopers also reportedly found a small bag containing meth when they searched Sloan.

Sloan was taken into custody and lodged in the Vanderburgh County Jail where he is being held without bond for possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.
