HPD: Two arrested for drug trafficking after crashing vehicle into house in Henderson

Two Henderson men are facing drug charges after police say they crashed a vehicle into a house on Mayer Street around 7:05 p.m. Wednesday.

According to Henderson Police, an officer responded to a hit and run at 421 Mayer Street where he was told that a vehicle had struck the house. While speaking to the victims, Henderson Police report the vehicle pulled up and 22 year old Kevaial Beasley stated that he owned the car. Police say a strong odor of marijuana was coming from the vehicle and a partially smoked blunt and marijuana in multiple containers were found inside the car. Beasley informed police the vehicle was not registered and did not have insurance.

Police say a witness to the accident stated that Beasley was in the passenger seat when the vehicle hit the house, and he got into the driver’s seat after the accident. 21 year old William McClelland of Henderson was reportedly identified as the driver of the vehicle at the time of the collision.

Beasley and McClelland were arrested and lodged in the Henderson County Jail for leaving the scene of an accident, trafficking in marijuana less than 8 ounces, possession of drug paraphernalia and no insurance.
