HPD: Henderson teen injured in single vehicle wreck

A Henderson teen was injured in a single-vehicle wreck when he reportedly fell asleep while driving.

According to Henderson Police, officers and emergency personnel responded to the scene of the accident around 8:25 a.m. Wednesday in the 11-hundred block of North Adams Street where 18 year old Justin Carlisle stated to police he fell asleep behind the wheel and drifted into a parking lot on the opposite side of the road. The teen said when he woke up it was too late to avoid hitting a building at 1100 North Adams Street.

Carlisle was treated at the scene by Methodist EMS and then transported by ambulance to the hospital for further treatment of injuries.

Police say the building was unoccupied at the time of the wreck, and was reopened after an inspection.
