Hopkins County Couple Arrested For Animal Cruelty

Madisonville, KY (Hopkins County) – The Kentucky State Police are investigating a complaint of animal cruelty after being notified by the Hopkins County Humane Society of possible animal abuse.

On Monday, October 24, 2016, Trooper Jon McGehee was requested to assist the Hopkins County Humane Society in checking the welfare of pets at 115 Highland Avenue in Madisonville. Upon further investigation, Trooper McGehee arrested both residents, Charles Reynolds, 66 and Susan Reynolds, 43, for Animal Cruelty 2nd Degree.

Trooper McGehee said that the dogs were being kept in small cages and were living in very unsanitary conditions. He stated that the animals had matted hair, bare spots and were covered in feces. The Hopkins County Humane Society removed a total of sixteen dogs and one cat from the residence.
