Henderson teen charged with receiving stolen property and other offenses

Police say a Henderson teen was arrested during a traffic stop on a moped Thursday night after they learned he had a suspended operator’s permit.

Henderson Police say the driver, 18 year old Demontre Langley, was taken into custody for operating on a suspended license around 10:40 p.m. in the parking lot of Kelly’s Market in the 100 block of Meadow Street.

According to police, the moped was reported stolen out of Evansville, IN. and officers found the VIN number was damaged and illegible.

Langley was also charged with Destruction of VIN number, Receiving Stolen Property Under $500, and alcohol-related offenses. He was booked into the Henderson County Detention Center.
