Henderson man arrested on bench warrant charged with drug possession

A Henderson man was taken into custody early Sunday morning on an active bench warrant for Failure to Appear in court on drug possession charges.

25 year old Jason James was arrested by Henderson Police around 2:50 Sunday morning at the intersection of Washington Street and Meadow Street. Police say James tried to leave his shoes inside the vehicle he was in, but the officer searched the shoes and found a clear glass smoking pipe containing a white residue.

After James was read his Miranda rights, he reportedly admitted he had been smoking methamphetamine earlier.

He was lodged in the Henderson County Detention Center on the Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear as well as Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense (Methamphetamine).
