Trooper’s Cruiser Sustained Minor Damage

HENDERSON, Ky. (March 2, 2019)–Daviess County Sheriff deputies attempted to perform a traffic stop on a 1991 Ford Ranger on US 60 West of Owensboro yesterday just before 6pm. The driver, identified as Anthony B. Blake, 48 of Henderson had a warrant for his arrest and fled from deputies at a high rate of speed.
The pursuit traveled into Reed (Henderson County) where a Henderson County Sheriff deputy and a KSP trooper were waiting. A tire deflation device was used which deflated two of Blake’s front tires. The trooper took lead in the pursuit and performed a legal intervention (pit maneuver) with his cruiser causing Blake to spin sideways to a stop. The trooper and deputies used their cruisers to block-in his vehicle. Blake was successfully taken into custody without further incident.
He was transported to the Henderson County Detention Center in Henderson where he is currently lodged.

Mr. Blake was charged by Kentucky State Police with the following offenses:
1) Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree-Police Officer
2) Reckless Driving
3) Fleeing/Evading 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle)
4) Possession of Marijuana
5) Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
6) Driving Under the Influence 1st Degree
7) Speeding
8) No Insurance
9) Failure of Owner to Maintain Required Insurance 1st Degree
