A Henderson couple is behind bars on drug trafficking and possession charges after an investigation by the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force and the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s Deputies and Pennyrile Narcotics Detectives reportedly executed a search warrant around 7:50 p.m. Wednesday at the residence of 32 year old Bobby Dean Payne and his girlfriend, 25 year old Samantha K. Brown in the 16-hundred block of Roosevelt Street in Henderson.
Authorities obtained the search warrant after monitoring traffic coming and going from the home the past couple of weeks, along with calls to the sheriff’s office from citizens in the area.
During the forced entry, deputies located the couple and another male subject identified as Joshua Beals. When searching the home with the help of the Sheriff’s K-9 Unit and Kentucky State Police, authorities say they found over 15-hundred dollars worth of crystal methamphetamine, marijuana and prescription pills, along with a handgun, cash and other items believed to be used in trafficking illegal drugs. They indicate other items from another investigation were also found inside the residence.
Payne and Brown were arrested and lodged in the Henderson County Detention Center for first degree trafficking a controlled substance – over two grams of meth, first degree trafficking in a controlled substance – Meth, second degree possession of a controlled substance – Amphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Payne was additionally charged for prescription of a controlled substance not in proper container, and Brown was additionally charged with possession of marijuana.
Authorities indicate all the drug charges are enhanced due to the loaded firearm being found with the drugs.
The third individual found at the home, Beals, was not charged; however, police say the investigation is still ongoing with more arrests and charges expected.
