Henderson Community College Names Eric Kerchner as Preston Arts Center Director

(Henderson) KY–Henderson Community College is pleased to announce Eric Kerchner as the Preston Arts Center Director. He will begin his role Monday, July 10th.

“Eric Kerchner brings strong arts management and community engagement skills to the Preston Arts Center and the region,” said HCC President Kris Williams. “He will be a great resource for the college as well as arts partners.”

Eric Kerchner is an arts administrator with over 20 years of management experience running centers in Iowa, Ohio, North Carolina, Florida and Michigan. He has served in various capacities with such world renowned arts organizations as Steppenwolfe Theatre Company in Chicago, Saddler’s Wells in London, the Williamstown Theatre Festival and the North Carolina Shakespeare Festival.

After attending the Hill School, he gained his undergraduate degree in theater studies from Wake Forest University. He completed a M.A. in Culture, Policy and Management at City University, London in 2011, and just completed coursework for an MSc. in Innovation, Creativity and Leadership.

Kerchner states, “The Preston Arts Center is a wonderful regional arts resource. I look forward to working with the college and the community to build on its great tradition and history. “
