Henderson Community College Celebrates End of 2018-2019 School Year


Henderson, KY – Henderson Community College (HCC) is pleased to announce the Spring 2019 graduation ceremonies are schedule for Friday, May 10, 2019 at the Preston Arts Center located at 2660 South Green Street. The ceremony begins at 7:00 PM. Dr. Jason Warren, President and CEO of HCC will provide the welcome for the ceremony. A graduating student from each of the college’s three divisions will also speak. During the ceremony, 103 credentials, certificates, diplomas, and degrees will be awarded to 168 graduates. In addition to graduation, HCC will be hosting the Nursing Pinning Ceremony, Honors Night, and the Kyndle FAME banquet all within the next week. The Nursing Pinning Ceremony, being held on Friday, May 3, at 4:00 PM at the Preston Arts Center, will celebrate 17 nursing students graduating into the nursing profession. Honors Night, being held on Friday, May 3, at 7:00 PM at the Preston Arts Center, will recognize students who have received organization awards, discipline awards, scholarships, and honor roll and dean’s list distinctions. The Kyndle FAME banquet, being held on Thursday, May 9, at 5:30PM at the Preston Arts Center, will recognize the first class of students graduating from Kyndle FAME – a work-and-learn program that gives participating students the opportunity to earn an industry recognized degree while gaining valuable experience at a sponsoring manufacturing company. Within the last week, we also celebrated students who participated in both our Dual Credit and Early College Academy programs. The Dual Credit program allows high school seniors to earn college certificates in Nursing Assisting, Computer and Information Technology, and Early Childhood Education before they graduate high school. HCC awarded 51 students their college certificates on Monday, April 22. The Early College Academy program gives juniors from Henderson County, Union County and Webster County High Schools the opportunity to take all their courses for their last two years at the college and use the courses for dual credit at their high school as well. HCC awarded 26 students their college certificates on Friday, April 26.
