HCSO: Two arrested in connection to burglaries

Authorities have arrested two men in connection to burglaries in Hopkins County and possibly in other counties.

The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office reports 19 year old Kolton Shear, of Princeton, and 31 year old Dennis Reardon, of White Plains, were taken into custody Wednesday and charged with first degree burglary and third degree burglary.

According to authorities, the sheriff’s office responded Wednesday to burglaries in Mortons Gap and White Plains that occurred on city owned property. During the investigation, authorities obtained pictures showing a Dodge truck loaded with possible stolen items.

The police report indicates the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office received multiple calls identifying the truck and its owner after posting the pictures on Facebook. The sheriff’s office indicates the Dawson Springs Police Department also provided information as the same suspect/suspects had been committing thefts in Dawson Springs as well. Later that afternoon, deputies and detectives responded to an alarm call on McKnight Road. During their investigation they reportedly found a break-in and determined it was the same suspects.

Authorities say Shear and Reardon were found in the area in the two tone Dodge truck shown in the pictures. Police reportedly recovered several stolen items from the truck as well as from a location in St. Charles. The property recovered is believed to be from other cases in Hopkins, Caldwell and possibly Christian counties.
