HCSO: Search for Uniontown man underway after he fled from police

Authorities are looking for a Uniontown man who fled from deputies during a traffic stop around 1:45 a.m. Friday in Henderson.

Henderson County Sheriff’s Deputy Stefon Douglas tells WMSK News the traffic stop was conducted on a pickup truck in the Arby’s parking lot on US 41 N for suspicion the driver was impaired. However, he says the driver later identified as Steven Gamboa, of Uniontown, fled from police through the Arby’s and McDonald’s parking lots onto Elm Street, and then went off the road into Atkinson Park when Gamboa jumped out of the vehicle and took off on foot.
According to Deputy Douglas, a female passenger in the truck, 32 year old Stephanie Slaughter of Henderson, was arrested on an outstanding warrant in Henderson.

Deputy Douglas says they are searching for Gamboa, who is wanted on felony charges in Kentucky, and is a known danger to law enforcement and the public.

The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted during the pursuit by the Henderson Police Department.
If you have any information on the whereabouts of Gamboa, please contact Henderson County Dispatch or the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office.
