HCSO: Corydon man facing multiple charges, including unlawful imprisonment of his wife

A Corydon man is facing multiple charges after authorities say he held his wife hostage.

According to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Department, deputies and Kentucky State Police responded to the 400 block of Hancock Street in Corydon around 8:05 p.m. Sunday night in reference to a report that 48 year old Rego Cruse was holding his wife, 50 year old Jo Cruse, hostage in a vehicle. When deputies arrived the couple had already left the area but was located by deputies on State Route 359 in Smith Mills about an hour later. Deputies were able to make a traffic stop on the vehicle and say the victim, Jo Cruse, was found okay.

During a search of the vehicle, authorities reportedly found methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and concealed deadly weapons.

After an investigation, the sheriff’s office says Rego Cruse was arrested and lodged in the Henderson County Jail for 1st Degree Unlawful Imprisonment, Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon by a Prior Deadly Weapon Felony Offender, 1st Degree Possession of Controlled Substance (Meth), Tampering with Physical Evidence, 4th Degree Domestic Violence Assault, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs (Aggravated Circumstances) and Driving on a DUI Suspended License – 3rd Offense (Aggravated Circumstances).
