HCSO: 36+ grams of pot, 10 grams of crack cocaine and stolen firearm found in juvenile’s vehicle

After leading authorities on a police pursuit, a 16 year old juvenile has been charged with multiple offenses after authorities say they found 36.4 grams of marijuana, 10 grams of crack cocaine, and a stolen firearm in the vehicle.

The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office reports the juvenile was clocked traveling about 20 mph over the speed limit in a 55 mph zone on US 60 East around 10:55 Tuesday night. When a deputy tried to make a traffic stop, he stated the vehicle was speeding at a higher rate of speed, then passed a vehicle in a no passing zone and turned the vehicle’s lights off. Authorities say the deputy caught up to the vehicle where the teen then traveled east into the westbound lane meeting traffic head-on and where the subject almost collided with another deputy. According to deputies, the pursuit ended after about three (3) to four (4) miles when the driver’s side tire fell off the rim and the car stopped in the 37-hundred block of Hollaway Lane.

When authorities arrested the teen, they reportedly smelled marijuana coming from inside the vehicle where they found the large quantities of marijuana, crack cocaine and the stolen firearm.

The 16 year old juvenile was lodged at the Bowling Green Detention Center for first degree fleeing and evading police, two counts of first degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, first degree wanton endangerment, trafficking marijuana and cocaine, receiving stolen property (firearm), possession of a handgun by minor and several traffic-related offenses.
