HCC Board of Directors Honors John Wilkey

HCC NEWS RELEASE

(Henderson) KY- The Henderson Community College Board of Directors awarded the 2016 Board Service Award at the college’s graduation ceremonies on May 6, 2016. The award was presented to John Wilkey for outstanding leadership and service to the college and community by Board Chair W. Cassidy Wilson. III.

John Wilkey has a long history of leadership and commitment to the community—and to Henderson Community College. Wilkey moved to Henderson in January of 1989, opening Edward Jones Investments that same year.  Wilkey is a financial advisor and an accredited asset management specialist.

Wilkey is a past Henderson Rotary Club president, past board member of Junior Achievement, and past board member of the Henderson Chamber of Commerce.  Wilkey has served the community as a volunteer with Boy Scouts and through coaching youth sports.  Wilkey currently serves on the board of the Community Foundation.

John Wilkey supports HCC in a number of ways–as an active member of the College Board of Directors, past Vice Chair of the Board, and current Board Secretary. For many years Wilkey has been a member of the College Foundation Board and its Finance Committee—helping to oversee the Foundation’s gifts and investments in a fiscally-sound manner. Wilkey recently completed a two-year term as College Foundation President. According to Wilkey, serving on boards allows him the opportunity to give back to his community that has given him and his family so much over the years.
