HENDERSON, KY, August 4, 2016 – Hays Boat Ramp located in the City of Henderson’s Hays Park (near Park Field) is expected to reopen on Saturday, Aug. 6, after being closed for about two weeks for cleanup of debris that had washed into the launch area.
After an extremely rainy July that kept the river elevated, in the last part of the month the Ohio River finally dropped to a level that exposed some rip rap and other debris that had washed out and created an obstruction to boat traffic.
City of Henderson Public Works Director Brian Williams said his crews have been working on cleaning out the launch area for the past two weeks.
Boaters can also use the ramps at the foot of Second Street and Third Street on the downtown Henderson riverfront.
