NEWS RELEASE
On April 14, 2016, at 2:42 a.m. the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an alarm at the Owensville Community School located at 6569 South State Road 65 in Owensville, Indiana. Several deputies from the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene where upon arriving 32 year old Jeremy Owen of rural Owensville was discovered on school property. During an investigation into the alarm and Owen’s presence on school grounds it was discovered that he had broken into the school and attempted to take a laptop and some food from within the school building.
At the conclusion of the investigation, Owen was transported to Gibson General Hospital for medical clearance by Deputy Loren Barchett. Upon being medically cleared Deputy Barchett transported Owen to the Gibson County
Jail and charged with with Non Residential Burglary, Theft, and Criminal Mischief. He remains in custody on a $2500 bond.
