Fort Campbell holding event for new high-ranking commander

FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (AP) — Fort Campbell is getting a new garrison command sergeant major, a position that assists the garrison commander.

Command Sgt. Maj. Noel Foster will take over the position from Sgt. Maj. Gabriel Espinosa, who has been in the job since June 2014.

Fort Campbell says in a release that Foster “has served in every enlisted leadership position within the infantry from rifleman to command sergeant major.” A native of Washington state, Foster has been in the Army for 25 years.

Fort Campbell says the command sergeant major is the senior enlisted advisor to the commander and carries out policies and standards of performance, training, appearance, and conduct of enlisted personnel.

The army post is holding a ceremony for the changeover on Tuesday at 10 a.m. CST.
