Former Morganfield Police Chief Arrested.

Late Thursday Morning Former Morganfield Police Chief Craig Bolds was arrested and charged with Abuse of Public Trust, Theft by Failure to Make Required Disposition(greater then $500), Theft by Unlawful Taking under $500, and 3 counts of Theft of Unlawful Taking over $500 but under $10,000.
In July 2016 the Kentucky State Police, Drug Enforcement/Special Enforcement West Branch received a compliant of possible theft at Morganfield Police Department. At the time of the alleged theft Craig Bolds was Morganfield Chief of Police.
On July 15th, 2016 WMSK obtained a letter that Morganfield Mayor Dickie Berry had presented to Craig Bolds. The letter stated that Craig Bolds was suspended without pay for two weeks starting July 7th, 2016 to July 21, 2016. Mayor Berry stated in his letter the reason for suspension, “This action is being taken due evidence provided the City Council and Mayor with evidence of your engagement in activities and conduct that adversely has effected your judgement in preforming your job duties. Investigation of additional job performance out comes and related activities are being conducted to support or discount the need for further action.” On July 20th, 2016, while still on Suspension, Mayor Berry accepted Craig Bolds resignation from his job duties as Morganfield Chief of Police.
