Forest Service waives fees in honor of Veteran’s Day

WINCHESTER, Ky. (AP) — The U.S. Forest Service says fees are being waived at several recreation areas in eastern Kentucky in honor of Veteran’s Day.

A statement from the Forest Service says anyone who visits Friday at several recreation areas in the Daniel Boone National Forest will not have to pay regular fees.

Camping fees are waived at the following areas: Red River Gorge, Koomer Ridge Campground, Barren Fork Horse Camp, White Sulphur Horse Camp, Clear Creek Campground, Claylick Boat-in Campground and Bee Rock Campground.

Recreation fees are also being waived the following recreation areas: Redbird Crest Trail, White Sulphur ATV Trail, Clear Creek Shooting Range, Natural Arch Scenic Area, Appletree Shooting Range, Keno Shooting Range, Laurel River Lake boat ramps and Cave Run Lake boat ramps.
