CITY OF HENDERSON NEWS RELEASE

FROM: PIO DONNA STINNETT

HENDERSON, KY, May 24, 2016–  In observance of Memorial Day, officials of Fernwood and Fairmont Cemeteries are allowing placement of flowers on burial spaces beginning Friday, May 27. They may remain until Sunday, June 5.

Flowers and other items left on the ground after Sunday, June 5, (including solar lights or items that interfere or restrict cemetery mowing and maintenance) will be removed.

Flower arrangements that are mounted on markers, monuments or in hanging baskets may remain year round, as long as they do not interfere with the maintenance of the Cemetery or cause any type of danger to visitors, cemetery workers or equipment.

Cemetery officials would like to remind cemetery patrons that glass, ceramic or breakable items are not allowed in the Cemetery at any time.

For more information, call the City of Henderson Parks and Recreation at 270-831-1274 or visit  www.cityofhendersonky.org.
