Flowers, other items on ground at cemeteries in City of Henderson need to be removed for mowing season

Spring has arrived, which also means its mowing season.

Cemetery officials with the City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department are asking for residents to remove all flowers and other items on the ground at Fernwood and Fairmont Cemeteries by Wednesday to allow for mowing.

Beginning Thursday, city officials say cemetery workers will remove all items that may hinder mowing and maintenance. City officials say glass, ceramic or breakable items are not allowed in the cemeteries.

According to city officials, floral arrangement that are mounted on the markers and monuments, or are displayed in hanging baskets, may remain year round.

If you have any questions, feel free to call the cemetery office at (270) 831-1274.
