Florida couple arrested in Morganfield charged with identity theft, motor vehicle theft and other offenses

While Sergeant Geoffrey Deibler was at Walmart in Morganfield last night around 6:30 blowing up surveillance pictures of the suspect in connection to the bank robbery, he was approached by management about two individuals behind the store they wanted removed from the property. Sgt. Deibler says he approached the male and female and they appeared to be intoxicated.

At that time, Sgt. Deibler indicates 44 year old Laneal Padilla and 45 year old Brandon Burlington, both of Hudson, Florida, were arrested.

Once the couple was in custody, he found numerous stolen cards and information on Burlington.

In the meantime, he says Detective Vos was searching their bags and found various items used to steal information.

Burlington and Padilla were booked into the Union County Detention Center charged for Theft of Identity, Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia and Theft By Unlawful Taking Over $10,000 but Under $1,000,000. In addition, Burlington was charged with Theft of Motor Vehicle, Operating on a Suspended/Revoked Operators License, and several vehicle and insurance related offenses.
