…FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING…

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of southern Illinois, western Kentucky, and southeast
Missouri, including the following areas, in southern Illinois,
Hardin, Massac, and Pope. In western Kentucky, Ballard,
Caldwell, Calloway, Carlisle, Christian, Crittenden, Daviess,
Fulton, Graves, Henderson, Hickman, Hopkins, Livingston, Lyon,
Marshall, McCracken, McLean, Muhlenberg, Todd, Trigg, Union
KY, and Webster. In southeast Missouri, Mississippi and New
Madrid.

* From this evening through Saturday evening

* Two to three inches of rain will be possible in the Watch area
Friday night through Saturday.

* Ground conditions are already saturated from earlier flooding
rainfall. Rains of this magnitude will only cause flooding or
flash flooding once again, as runoff will occur quickly. In
areas already inundated by backwater from area rivers and
creeks, sharp rises in water levels can be expected in a short
period of time.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
