Firefighters responded to structure fire in Sebree

Two volunteer fire departments responded to the scene of a structure fire Friday morning in Sebree.

Sebree City Manager and Sebree Volunteer Fire Department Assistant Chief Emery Thomas tells WMSK News they were dispatched around 7:00 a.m. to the intersection of US 41, KY 56, and KY 370 at the traffic light where an old garage was on fire. He says firefighters extinguished the blaze that caused minor damage to the structure.

According to Assistant Chief Thomas, Sebree and Dixon Volunteer Department firefighters were on the scene of the blaze for approximately two hours.

Spokesman Keith Todd reports personnel with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet also assisted at the scene by setting up detours due to the road being blocked for about 2.5 hours.
