Evansville man killed in motorcycle crash on US41N at Ellis Park

A 70 year old Evansville man was killed in a motorcycle wreck Saturday afternoon on Highway 41 North in front of Ellis Park.

The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office reports deputies and emergency personnel responded to the scene around 4:00 p.m. where an investigation determined Jerry M. Taylor was driving a motorcycle and lost control coming around the curve just off the northbound bridge, exited the roadway causing him to drive over rumble strips and loose gravel before crashing into a concrete barrier.  As a result of the impact, deputies say Taylor was ejected from the motorcycle and landed on the other side of the concrete barrier.

Taylor, who deputies say was wearing a helmet, was given medical aid by Henderson County EMS and Volunteer Rescue personnel, but was pronounced dead at the scene by the Henderson County Coroner’s Office.

According to witness statements, authorities say speed does not appear to be a factor in the fatal wreck.
