Evansville man injured in 3-vehicle wreck on I-69 in Hopkins Co.

An Evansville man was injured Tuesday in a three-vehicle wreck on Interstate 69 in Hopkins County.

According to the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the accident around 11:25 a.m. Tuesday at the 111 mile marker where an investigation determined that 20 year old Jacob Wallace of Lynnville, Indiana was driving a car southbound on I-69 when he failed to see traffic slowing down in front of him and he crashed into the rear of a vehicle driven by 34 year old Donald Swanson of Evansville, Indiana. Authorities say the impact caused Swanson’s vehicle to crash into a car driven by 26 year old Michael Holt of Dawson Springs, which went into the median.

Swanson was transported by ambulance to Baptist Health in Madisonville for treatment of minor injuries. Police indicate the other two drivers were uninjured in the wreck.

Kentucky State Police and Morton’s Gap Fire Department assisted the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
