A 25 year old man was arrested over the weekend for trespassing and on a weapon charge.
Jonathan Roy was taken into custody by Evansville Police on Saturday, June 4th, after police say the owner of 1041 S. Weinback called around 8:30 p.m. to report someone was illegally staying in the building.
Authorities say when officers arrived they saw Roy inside the building with a handgun that he wrapped in a towel and placed on the floor.
Officers entered the building and arrested Roy without incident. Police say the gun was recovered and determined it had been stolen in Texas.
Roy was lodged in the Vanderburgh County Detention Center for Trespass, Possession of a Handgun without a Permit, and Receiving Stolen Property.
