EPD Investigating Shooting at Bar, Several Victims Injured By Gunshots

EVANSVILLE, IN (WMSK) – Evansville Police are investigating a shooting at a bar that reportedly sent several patrons to the hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds.

According to police, officers responded to Mann’s Bar at 425 North Garvin Street around 2:40 a.m Sunday after receiving reports of multiple gunshots. As officers were enroute to the bar, police say more calls came in reporting that there were a number of people fighting and that several shots were being fired into the crowd.

Officers arrived and found a large crowd outside of the bar. As the officers were securing the scene, authorities report several gunshot victims began showing up at Deaconess Hospital. Police officers dispersed the crowd and a found a number of spent bullet casings around the area outside of the bar.

Police indicate two of the gunshot victims were immediately taken into surgery while the others were treated in the emergency room.

At this time, authorities say the cause of the shooting and what led up to it is unknown. Police are withholding names of the gunshot victims pending notification of family.

No suspects are known at this time and detectives are still trying to locate witnesses to the shootings.

Police report the investigation is ongoing and updates will be sent as they are developed.
