Emergency Road Aid Funds Awarded to Webster County

Funding will provide needed drainage structure repair on John Roach Road

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (March 27, 2020) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet today announces, the Webster County Fiscal Court will receive up to $100,000 in County Road Aid emergency funds for critical drainage structure repairs on John Roach Road (CR 1126).

Heavy water flow from three waterways caused extreme erosion underneath the existing culvert and along creek banks. The county plans to use the funding to remove the current culvert and install a new drainage structure that is better suited to handle the flow of water.

“The Transportation Cabinet is pleased to approve this request for funding to provide assistance to Webster County to repair and maintain safe connections in the community,” said Transportation Secretary Jim Gray.

The repairs will take place on John Roach Road located at mile marker 1.

Webster County Fiscal Court will immediately receive $50,000 – half the approved award – with the remainder payable as work progresses.

Webster County Fiscal Court is responsible for administering the work.
