A 22 year old Daviess County woman was arrested Sunday morning after police say she stabbed her boyfriend.

The sheriff’s office reports deputies responded to a report of a stabbing in east Daviess County around 2:40 Sunday morning where the suspect was still on the scene. When deputies arrived they found the victim sitting in a chair holding a towel on his chest. The victim was transported by ambulance to the hospital for treatment.

During the investigation, the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office say it was learned that the victims live in girlfriend, Mackenzie McCabe of Maceo, had stabbed him and had taken the knife out in the backyard and threw it in the snow.

McCabe was taken into custody and lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center for first degree domestic assault and tampering with physical evidence.

Authorities indicate the victim was listed in stable condition Sunday night.
