Local residents traveling to Owensboro today need to be aware CSX Railroad plans to close a section of KY 2155/Triplett Street.
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesman Keith Todd says this daytime closure on KY 2155/Triplet Street is to allow CSX Railroad to make emergency track repairs near the rail crossing between 8th Street and 9th Street in Owensboro, which is about 2/10ths of a mile north of the KY 54/East Parrish Avenue intersection.
The site closed around 7:00 this (Tuesday) morning, and is expected to reopen about 3:00 this (Tuesday) afternoon.
Todd indicates there will not be a marked detour. However, he notes passenger vehicles may self-detour via side streets in this area. He says trucks should seek an alternate route via an approved state highway.
