SOMERSET, Ky. — Crappie USA will return to Kentucky’s Lake Cumberland Oct. 30–31 with a tournament and a chance for local anglers to compete for cash, prizes and advance to the Cabela’s Crappie USA Classic in 2016.

The Crappie USA Tournament is part of the Kentucky Outdoor Adventure Games being held during October.

A pre-tournament seminar will be held on Thursday, Oct. 29, at the Holiday Inn Express in Somerset. Sign up begins at 5 p.m. This seminar is open to the public.

The tournament weigh-ins will be held on Friday, Oct. 30, and Saturday, Oct. 31, at the General Burnside Island State Park Boat Ramp beginning at 3 p.m. This is an opportunity for non-competitors to learn how the big ones are caught. Interviews of the top five teams will be conducted after the weigh in.

Sign up for the Kids Rodeo will be at 8 a.m. with the rodeo from 9-11 a.m. The Crappie USA Kids Fishing Rodeo is a chance for children of the area to get out and enjoy nature, do a little fishing and win some prizes. The event is free to all children 12 and under with all participants eligible for a chance to win prizes.

The Somerset-Pulaski County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Burnside Tourism and Kentucky Sports Authority welcome all Crappie USA anglers and their guest to the area and hope they take the opportunity to enjoy the many attractions.
