Coroner’s Office releases name of shooting victim killed at Home Life Studios in Evansville

Police are investigating a homicide that claimed the life of a 38 year old Evansville resident.

All the details have not been released at the time of this report, but here is what we do know…

According to Evansville Police, there was a shooting around 8:30 this morning at the Home Life Studios. Police say one man, now identified as Jerome Wilkins, was injured and taken by ambulance to the emergency room at St. Mary’s Hospital. They say medical efforts to save the 38 year old man were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead around 9:12.

Vanderburgh County Chief Deputy Coroner Steven W. Lockyear says an autopsy is scheduled for Friday.

Police indicate another person was injured during the incident and is still undergoing medical care. They say his name and condition are not being released at this time.

Evansville Police say investigators are continuing to gather details regarding the incident, and no other details are publicly available at this time.
