Child injured in wreck airlifted to hospital

Midland (Muhlenberg County) – Kentucky State Police responded to a single vehicle collision that sent two to the emergency room.

According to police, a trooper responded to the wreck around 3:30 p.m. Friday where an investigation revealed 67 year old Patricia Anderson, of Bremen, was driving an SUV operating her vehicle exited the roadway and traveled down an embankment and crashed into a tree. The SUV then traveled up a rock embankment before coming to final rest.

Authorities indicate Anderson was carrying four (4) passengers, including three juveniles. They say all occupants were properly restrained.

KSP reports Anderson was transported to Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital by Muhlenberg EMS for non-life threatening injuries. Police say a four (4) year passenger was airlifted to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville, TN for injuries sustained to her torso and head.

The road Anderson was traveling on when the wreck occurred was not mentioned in the release.

The Bremen Community Volunteer Fire Department, Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Department, and Constable Tim Franklin assisted at KSP at the scene.
