Cave-In-Rock Ferry is OPEN

The Cave-in-Rock Ferry has reopened after being closed for over a week due to floodwaters over KY 91 near the Kentucky Landing on the Ohio River.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesman Keith Todd says the ferry resumed service on its regular schedule at 6:00 this morning.

The Cave-in-Rock Ferry connects KY 91 with Illinois Route 1 across the Ohio River between Crittenden County and Hardin County, Illinois.

The ferry, which is operated by an independent contractor, normally operates from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. central time, 7 days a week, and carries about 500 vehicles across the Ohio River in an average day.
